After battling a bit with ComicPress, I think I got Life is simple to work again.
It’s aliiiive!
As you may or may not have noticed, ComicPress has a very cool feature, called “tag page”. It’s a row of buttons, located just above the calendar on the sidebar and it allows you to bookmark any page in the site, via a cookie set in your browser cache.
This is cool because if you decide to read all the strips from the beginning and are interrupted, you can click the “tag page” button to mark the strip you were on when interrupted (to go beat up the person who caused the interruption, for example).
When you come back to the site, you just click the “go to tag” button and hey presto: you’re back where you left off and there was no need to junk up your bookmarks folder.
Cool, huh?
I felt the iWank strip was a bit weird, compositionally, so I took it for a spin and added some more blacks. I think it looks a little better now.
Gotta get used to the whole black and white think. It’s harder than it seems.
I made a video of the complete digital inking process of the latest strip. I love that kind of thing, and I think it came out pretty cool – although I had no patience to add music.
The problem is I can’t seem to be able to upload the video. I tried youtube and SAPO Vídeos and neither worked. I think it’s because my ADSL connection keeps timing out during the file transfer.
That’s really crappy. I’ll try to find a way to put the video online in the coming days, stay tuned.
I tried several times to get this on youtube and SAPO Vídeos, with no success, but finally it’s live. The editing is crap and I had to run the thing at 4.5X the original speed to get it under the maximum lenght allowed by youtube, but, hey… maybe it’ll be better next time.
In the meanwhile, enjoy…
Time for making comics has been really scarce lately so the only update I can announce is in the back-side of things, so to speak.
Life is simple is now running WordPress 2.3.1 and ComicPress 2.1. Upgrades went smoothly as always.
While I don’t update LIS, check out my other comic strip The Specialists.
